Named for the 1st woman to serve as Secretary of Labor under Franklin Roosevelt between 1933-1945, Frances Perkins (1880-1965), played a pivotal part of Roosevelt's New Deal, which was responsible for the establishment of the Civilian Conservation Corp, the Public Works Administration, Fair Labor Standards Act, and even the Social Security Act.
